iPhone Faves:
I get it from my Mama :)
Fast forward to the party: ALL the adults and kids were in on the fun. I was afraid my mom wouldn't have anything to wear, but luckily she planned ahead and packed a surprise costume. She was the Fairy Godmother, who the girls LOVED-- they took turns wearing her crown and pointing her wand around the room saying "bippity boppity boom". The guys were the best sports-- Delyn wore a Prince Charming costume I bought on Amazon, and once I found out that Zack was down to play along I started making a Prince costume for him as well. It actually looked a little more "western rodeo" than Prince at first, but it turned out awesome! Delyn even made the crowns :)
We started the party off with some crown decorating for the girls, had a photo shoot outside, blew bubbles, opened presents (handmade cards and a beaded pipe cleaner necklace, ALL wrapped in homemade wrapping paper by the sweetest little hands), and laughed. We surprised the girls with a Princess Castle made out of cardboard, and I'm pretty sure that Becca and I were even more excited than the girls! They played puppet shows and Rapunzel, and to my surprise it lasted the whole night without breaking... major win!! We ended the night on the couch watching Cinderella with the whole crew-- I sat on the couch with my husband and friends to my left, my mom to my right and a bunch of little cuddlers in between. Even Avie stayed up to party with us!!
All in all it was a GREAT night, and the perfect start to the most wonderful birthday weekend. Twenty-Eight is off to the best start yet, and I have to thank my sweet husband, my awesome mama, and my great buddies for such a memorable party! Also, another big thank you to all the friends who took time out of their day to send sweet notes and thoughts!
