Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause…
I had the joy of attending the Passion Conference last weekend
(blogs to come) and am proud to support the End It Movement
advocating for justice. The purpose of this movement is to shine a light
on modern day slavery. It is currently estimated that there are 27 MILLION
men, women, and children trapped in slavery around the world. They are
working in brothels, mines, homes, and places you might least expect it.
The mission of this effort is to raise awareness, to let people know that
slavery still exists and that we must fight for the freedom of those without
a voice. I mean… let that number sink in… 27 million.
Be the voice, be the face for those 27 million. You can do this by simply
drawing a red “X” on your hand on Thursday, February 27th to shine a light
on slavery. Find ten friends and draw a red “X” on their hands as well. Post
a picture to social media with the hashtag #ENDITMOVEMENT. Change your
profile picture. Take it as far as you want! But be prepared to explain to people
WHY you’re wearing it… for the 27 million.
Is this going to solve the problem? No. But that’s not the point. The point is
to raise awareness and commit to being a generation that does something.
Let’s commit to bringing awareness to pave the way for further efforts to
restore these lives. Don’t stand idly by. Something is better than nothing.
